You can also reach the Faculty via the Subte (subway) Line D or H, getting off at the Facultad de Derecho station. A SUBE card is needed to use public transport. The Facultad de Derecho (UBA) stands as a pillar of legal education in Argentina. Established in 1821, the Faculty has played a crucial role in shaping the nation's legal landscape. Its current building, dating from 1949, is an architectural landmark designed by Arturo Ochoa, Ismael Chiapore, and Pedro Vivent, the result of an architectural design competition. The building itself is a sight to behold, inspired by the purest Doric style. Its monumental structure, free of superfluous ornamentation, occupies 40,000 square meters across a ground floor, main floor, and two upper stories. The main facade features a grand staircase leading to a portico with 14 Doric-style columns. Inside, visitors can find a museum, an art gallery, and a specialized library. The main hall features a large oil painting by Antonio González Moreno depicting the inauguration of the University of Buenos Aires. The Facultad de Derecho offers undergraduate degrees in Law, Public Translation, Public Calligraphy, and Professorship of Legal Sciences. It is one of the most popular faculties within the University of Buenos Aires.
