Walking
From the center of San Martín de los Andes, head east on Juez del Valle street towards the treatment plant. Cross the bridge over Pocahullo Creek. Continue along the trails, following signs for Mirador Bandurrias and La Islita. The walk to La Islita is approximately 6 km and takes about 1-1.5 hours. Note that there may be a small entrance fee collected by the Mapuche community.
Public Transport
From the San Martín de los Andes bus terminal, take a local taxi or remis (private car service) towards La Islita. The ride is approximately 6 km and should take around 15-20 minutes. A taxi ride will cost approximately 250-300 ARS. Alternatively, check for local bus routes that may operate closer to the area, although these may have limited schedules.
Car
From the center of San Martín de los Andes, take Provincial Route 48 towards Hua Hum International Pass. After approximately 5 km, turn left onto the road leading to Mirador Bandurrias and La Islita. Follow this road for another kilometer to reach La Islita. Parking is available near the beach, but spaces are limited, especially during peak season. Parking fee may apply.
