Located in the charming town of Tigre, the Museo de la Reconquista invites visitors to delve into Argentina's rich historical narrative, focusing on the pivotal events of the Argentine War of Independence. The museum showcases a diverse collection of items, including weaponry, uniforms, and personal belongings of prominent figures from the independence era.The building itself is a historical artifact. Inaugurated on August 5, 1967, the house features two floors of typical colonial construction, with double exterior walls built with large bricks, barred windows, and ceiling beams. Large galleries, courtyards, and gardens surround the building, and the original cistern remains intact. The park boasts very old trees and plants characteristic of the area, including a cherry tree planted in homage to Jorge Luis Borges by María Kodama in June 2011.Touring the museum allows visitors to understand the natural and social history of Tigre, shaped by its river pier. The exhibits focus on the formation of the Delta Islands, the legacy of indigenous peoples, the activity of the ancient Port of Santa María de Las Conchas, and the immigrant strength that gave rise to each of its localities.
