To reach Río Chachín via public transport, take a bus from Neuquén to San Martín de los Andes. Several bus companies operate this route, including Via Bariloche and Andesmar. The journey takes approximately 7 hours, and tickets can be purchased online or at the bus terminal. Once in San Martín de los Andes, hire a taxi or use local shuttle services to reach Río Chachín, which is about 40 kilometers away. Confirm the taxi fare beforehand or check with local shuttle services for pricing. Bus fare from Neuquén to San Martín de los Andes typically costs around ARS 2,000-4,000. Taxi or shuttle fare from San Martín de los Andes to Río Chachín is approximately ARS 1,500-3,000.

Driving

To drive to Río Chachín from Neuquén, take Route 22 west until you reach the junction with Route 40. Turn onto Route 40 and continue south. Follow Route 40 for approximately 150 kilometers until you reach the town of San Martín de los Andes. From San Martín de los Andes, take Route 234 east. After about 40 kilometers, you will reach the area near Río Chachín. Ensure your vehicle is equipped for mountain driving as the roads can be winding and steep in places. Parking is available near the entrance to Cascada Chachín. Parking fee is approximately ARS 200-500 per hour.

The waterfall is accessible via Provincial Route 48 from San Martín de los Andes, followed by a short hike along an interpretive trail.
