Located near the city center, Independencia Park is a sprawling 126-hectare oasis offering a diverse range of attractions and activities. Designed by French landscape architect Charles Thays, the park was inaugurated in 1902 to celebrate the centennial of Argentina's independence.The park is home to several museums, including the City Museum, the Juan B. Castagnino Fine Arts Museum, and the Dr. Julio Marc Provincial Historical Museum. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy the Jorge Newbery Municipal Stadium and the Patinódromo Municipal. The Newell's Old Boys stadium is also located within the park.Key features include a scenic lake with paddle boats and the Dancing Waters show. The park also boasts themed gardens like the Rosedal (Rose Garden) and the French Garden. The Children's Garden offers amusement and educational facilities.     Walking

    From any location in Pichincha, head southeast toward Avenida Pellegrini. Once on Avenida Pellegrini, turn left and continue walking until you reach Bv. Oroño. The park entrance is located at the intersection of Bv. Oroño and Av. Int. Morcillo. The walk should take approximately 15-20 minutes.

    Public Transport

    From Barrio Pichincha, locate the nearest bus stop on Avenida Pellegrini. Take bus number 146 or 133 towards the Parque Independencia stop. The bus ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes. A single fare ticket costs approximately ARS 1,177. After getting off, walk a short distance to the entrance of the park located at Bv. Oroño and Av. Int. Morcillo.
