Driving
From Salta, take Ruta Nacional 68 southwest. After approximately 45 km, turn onto Ruta Nacional 40. Continue for about 120 km, passing through Cachi and Payogasta. The park entrance is located along Ruta Nacional 40, roughly 15 km from Payogasta. Note that the drive from Salta to Los Cardones National Park is approximately 3 hours. There is no entrance fee.

From Salta's main bus terminal, take a bus to Cachi. Several companies offer this service. The journey takes approximately 4-5 hours. From Cachi, hire a taxi or local shuttle to reach the park entrance, about 30 km away. Confirm the fare beforehand. Bus fare from Salta to Cachi is approximately $15,500–16,200 ARS. There is no entrance fee.
