Walking
From the city center, head towards the Güemes Monument, which marks the start of the trail up San Bernardo Hill. The well-maintained path consists of over 1,000 steps leading to the summit. Allow approximately 30-45 minutes for a moderately paced climb. There is no cost to walk up the hill.
Public Transport
Several local buses connect the city center with the base of San Bernardo Hill. Check with local transit authorities for the most up-to-date routes and schedules. A short bus ride from Belgrado y Balcarce to Cementerio costs approximately $690 ARS. From the bus stop, it is a short walk to the cable car station or the start of the hiking trail.
Cable Car
The Teleférico Salta (cable car) is located at the base of San Bernardo Hill in Parque San Martín. Purchase tickets at the station. The cable car operates from 10:00 am to 7:45 pm. A round-trip ticket costs approximately $2200 ARS. The ride to the summit takes about 8 minutes.
Taxi/Ride-Share
Taxis and ride-sharing services are readily available in Salta. A taxi ride from the city center to the base of San Bernardo Hill takes approximately 10 minutes and costs between $8,500 and $11,000 ARS. From there, you can take the cable car or hike to the summit.
