Discover more about Ushuaia Station

Ushuaia Station is the starting point for an unforgettable journey into the heart of Tierra del Fuego. Officially named the Southern Fuegian Railway, or *Ferrocarril Austral Fueguino* , it's most famously known as the End of the World Train (*El Tren del Fin del Mundo*). This historic station is located 8 km west of Ushuaia, on the road to Tierra del Fuego National Park. The station's history is intertwined with Ushuaia's past as a penal colony. In the late 19th century, prisoners constructed a railway to transport materials for building the prison. The train carried wood and stone from the forest to the prison. In 1994, the railway was rebuilt as a heritage railway, offering visitors a chance to experience the stunning scenery and learn about the region's history. The End of the World Train takes passengers on a scenic ride through the Tierra del Fuego National Park. The journey includes stops at landmarks like the Macarena Waterfall, offering panoramic views. The train cars have large windows and audio guides in multiple languages. The route follows the Pipo River, passes through peat bogs, and crosses the 'Burnt Bridge,' the site of the original bridge.
