If you are already in Tilcara, the most straightforward way to get to Cerro de la Cruz is to walk. Start from the main square (Plaza Central) in Tilcara. Head west on Avenida Dr. Atilio L. G. Ramos for about 300 meters until you reach a fork. Take the left path that leads up a gentle incline. Follow the path for approximately 1 kilometer, and you will see signs directing you to Cerro de la Cruz. The walk takes about 20-30 minutes depending on your pace.

If you prefer to drive, head out of the main square and turn onto Avenida Dr. Atilio L. G. Ramos, heading west. Continue for about 1 kilometer until you reach the fork, then veer left onto a narrower road that leads towards the hill. There is limited parking available near the entrance to the trailhead. Make sure to arrive early as the parking lot can fill up quickly, especially on weekends.

Public Transportation
While there is no direct public transportation to Cerro de la Cruz, you can take a local minibus from the main square in Tilcara. Look for a minibus heading towards the outskirts of town. Inform the driver of your destination; he will drop you off at the closest point to the entrance of the trail. From there, you will need to walk about 600 meters to reach the trailhead. The minibus fare is usually around 50 ARS.
