Public Transport
From the main bus terminal in Tilcara, take a bus to Humahuaca. Buses run regularly, and the trip takes about 30 minutes. Get off at the Humahuaca bus terminal. From there, hire a local taxi or shared van to Laguna Colorada. Confirm the fare before departing; it should be around 200-300 ARS per person. The ride from Humahuaca to Laguna Colorada will take about 1 hour.
Car
From Tilcara, take Route 9 south towards Humahuaca. Continue for about 16 kilometers until the junction with Route 73. Turn left onto Route 73 and follow it for approximately 24 kilometers. After passing through Uquia, look for signs to Laguna Colorada. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended due to the rough road conditions. There is usually no entrance fee.
