Experience Serenity at Mirador Lago Escondido

Getting There

• Car

  Start from the center of Villa La Angostura. Head southeast on Avenida Arrayanes toward Calle Los Notros. Continue straight for approximately 2 km until you reach Route 40 (Ruta Nacional 40). Turn right onto Route 40 and drive for about 15 km. Look for the sign indicating the entrance to Mirador Lago Escondido. Turn left onto the gravel road, which leads to the mirador. The drive will take approximately 30 minutes in total, depending on traffic and road conditions. Please note that the road may be unpaved and can be rough, so a vehicle with good clearance is recommended.

• Public Transportation

  From the main bus terminal in Villa La Angostura, look for buses heading towards San Martín de los Andes or Bariloche. Most of these buses will stop at key points along Route 40. Ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance to Mirador Lago Escondido. The bus ride takes about 30-40 minutes, and you may need to walk a short distance to reach the mirador from the bus stop. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may vary throughout the week.

• Hiking

  If you're feeling adventurous and prefer a more active approach, you can hike to Mirador Lago Escondido. Start from the center of Villa La Angostura and head towards the Campanario area. Follow the marked trails leading up to the mirador. This hike is about 8 km one way and may take around 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Ensure you bring plenty of water and snacks, as there are no facilities along the way. The views from the top are well worth the effort!
