Drive about one-half mile to Maricopa Road and turn right. The entrance to the Huhugam Heritage Center will be the first right. From Tucson, take Interstate 10 West and exit at Queen Creek Road, heading West (left). Drive about one-half mile to Maricopa Road and turn right. The entrance to the Huhugam Heritage Center will be the first right. There is no fee for parking.

The center's mission is to ensure that the Akimel O'otham and Pee Posh cultures flourish for future generations. The center features a state-of-the-art collections repository that houses hundreds of artifacts from the Akimel O'otham and Pee Posh tribes, as well as items from the Huhugam, the ancestral people of the region. The 6,000+ square foot permanent gallery, completed in 2020, showcases items from various institutions, including the National Museum of the American Indian. Exhibits include artifacts, artwork, and media that tell the story of the community. Visitors can explore exhibits that highlight the traditions, customs, and beliefs of the Akimel O'otham and Pee Posh people. The center also serves as a research hub for tribal members and a gathering place for the community.
