Observation Point: A Breathtaking Vista in Phoenix

Getting There

• Public Transit

  From downtown Phoenix, take the Valley Metro Light Rail from the 1st Avenue/Main Street station heading towards Mesa. Ride for 4 stops until you reach the 44th Street/Washington station. Transfer to Bus Route 1 at the bus stop outside the station. Take Bus Route 1 heading south for approximately 15 minutes until you reach the stop at 48th Street and Baseline Road. From there, walk approximately 0.5 miles south on 48th Street until you reach the entrance to South Mountain Park. Enter the park and follow the signs to Scott Ridge Trail, which leads to Observation Point.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local bike rental service in Phoenix. Start from downtown and head south on 7th Avenue. Continue down to Baseline Road and then turn east. Follow Baseline Road until you reach 48th Street, where you will turn south. Continue biking south until you reach the entrance to South Mountain Park. Once in the park, follow the signs to Scott Ridge Trail, which leads to Observation Point.

• Walking

  If you are near South Mountain Park, the best way to reach Observation Point is by walking. Start at the main entrance of South Mountain Park located on 24th Street. Walk along the main road until you reach the Scott Ridge Trailhead. From there, follow the Scott Ridge Trail which will take you to Observation Point. The hike is approximately 2.5 miles one way and offers stunning views of the surrounding area.
