Opened in 2008, the park was built on what was once a cattle ranch and has since become a haven for both people and wildlife.The park's 78 acres are dedicated to groundwater recharge and wetlands, attracting diverse Sonoran Desert flora and fauna. Visitors can explore the Chandler Nature Center, which offers exhibits and programs focused on conservation, local wildlife, and desert ecology. The park also features a poignant Field of Honor, a multi-level memorial designed to match the proportions of the American flag, honoring veterans with themes of freedom, recognition, sacrifice, and family. Overlooking the memorial is the Williams Air Force Base Memorial Plane, commemorating the military personnel who served at the base from 1941 to 1993.Recreational opportunities abound, including a 5-acre community fishing lake stocked with various fish species.
