Downtown Flagstaff is easily walkable, with most attractions concentrated within a few blocks. From the Amtrak station and Visitor Center, head west on Route 66 (Santa Fe Avenue) to reach Heritage Square, the heart of downtown. The square is surrounded by shops, restaurants, and historic buildings. Walking north or south from Heritage Square will take you to other points of interest. Sidewalks are well-maintained, but be aware of occasional train crossings.

Mountain Line, Flagstaff's public bus system, serves downtown with multiple routes. Check the Mountain Line website or app for schedules and real-time arrival information. Several bus stops are located along major streets like Route 66 and Aspen Avenue. A single ride fare is typically around $1.25.

Parking
Parking in Downtown Flagstaff is managed by the ParkFlag program. On-street parking is available for $1 per hour, with enforcement from 9 am to 5 pm, Sunday through Thursday. Free parking is available outside the managed area and after 5 pm and on weekends in City and County lots. Several parking lots are also available, including the Aspen Avenue lot (107 West Aspen Ave) and the Cherry Avenue lot (101 West Cherry Ave). You can pay at kiosks, online, or via the Flowbird app (transaction fee applies). Overnight parking is allowed at the Phoenix Avenue lot (200 W. Phoenix Ave) by permit only.
