To reach Cathedral Rock from downtown Flagstaff, start at the Flagstaff Visitor Center located at 1 E Route 66. Take the NAIPTA bus Route 10 towards Kachina Village. Get off at the stop at Kachina Trail and Route 66. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 miles; head south on Kachina Trail, then turn left onto Arizona 89A. Follow the road, and Cathedral Rock will be visible. Be aware that there may not be sidewalks for part of this route, so walk cautiously.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local bike shops in downtown Flagstaff. From the downtown area, head south on South San Francisco Street until you reach the intersection with Arizona 89A. Turn right onto Arizona 89A and continue cycling for about 5 miles. Look for signs directing you to Cathedral Rock; the trailhead is located off the highway. Remember to wear a helmet and follow local biking laws.
