Bus
Start at the Flagstaff City Hall located at 211 W Aspen Ave, Flagstaff, AZ 86001. From there, head to the nearest bus stop and take the Mountain Line Bus Route 10 towards the Flagstaff Mall. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the most current times. Get off at the Walnut Canyon Visitor Center stop, which is approximately a 30-minute ride. After disembarking, walk along Walnut Canyon Road for about 0.5 miles until you reach the Island Trail entrance, which will be on your right.

Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, you can ride from downtown Flagstaff. Start at the intersection of E Route 66 and N San Francisco St. Head east on Route 66 until you reach N Fort Valley Rd. Turn left onto N Fort Valley Rd and continue until you reach the intersection with Walnut Canyon Rd. Turn right onto Walnut Canyon Rd and follow it for about 3 miles. The Island Trail entrance will be on your left. Be sure to wear a helmet and follow local bike laws.

For those who prefer to walk, begin your journey at the downtown area, particularly from the Flagstaff Public Library at 300 W Aspen Ave, Flagstaff, AZ 86001. Head east on E Aspen Ave until you reach the intersection with N Fort Valley Rd. Turn right and continue on N Fort Valley Rd until you reach Walnut Canyon Rd. Turn left onto Walnut Canyon Rd and walk for approximately 2.5 miles. The Island Trail entrance will be on your left. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
