Getting There

• Car

  From Grand Canyon National Park, head south on AZ-64 S towards Williams. Continue on AZ-64 S for approximately 30 miles until you reach the junction with US-180. Turn right onto US-180 E and follow it for about 15 miles until you reach the intersection with AZ-89 S. Turn left onto AZ-89 S and continue for approximately 45 miles. Watch for signs indicating 'Vermilion Cliffs National Monument' as you approach Marble Canyon. Once you reach Marble Canyon, turn left onto the unpaved access road that leads into the monument. Please note that parts of this road may require a high-clearance vehicle depending on the weather conditions.

• Public Transportation

  Currently, there are limited public transportation options directly to Vermilion Cliffs National Monument from Grand Canyon National Park. The best route is to take a shuttle or bus service that connects to Flagstaff or Page, Arizona. From Grand Canyon Village, find a shuttle service to Flagstaff. From Flagstaff, board a bus to Page. Once in Page, you can rent a car or find a local tour service that offers trips to Vermilion Cliffs. It is advisable to check schedules ahead of time, as options may be limited.

• Bike

  For adventurous travelers, biking from Grand Canyon National Park to Vermilion Cliffs is an option, though it requires significant planning and stamina. Start at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, head south on AZ-64 S, then connect to US-180 E and AZ-89 S as described in the car guidance. Ensure you have a map and sufficient supplies, as this route is approximately 75 miles one way. This journey is recommended only for experienced cyclists.
