Getting There

Shuttle Bus

To reach the South Kaibab Trailhead, park at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center and take the free Kaibab Rim Route (Orange Route) shuttle bus. The shuttle runs frequently throughout the day, with increased service during peak season. The South Kaibab Trailhead is the first stop on the Orange Route. Check the National Park Service website for the current schedule. There is no parking at the South Kaibab Trailhead.
Walking

From parking areas along Desert View Drive (Highway 64), walk along the Arizona Trail (AZT) to the Rim Trail, then follow the Rim Trail to the South Kaibab Trailhead. This adds approximately 15-20 minutes to your journey. Alternatively, from Pipe Creek Vista, walk 0.9 miles on the Rim Trail to the South Kaibab Trailhead. Parking along Desert View Drive and at Pipe Creek Vista is free.
