Discovering Huachuca Peak: Arizona's Majestic Summit

Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from Sierra Vista, AZ. Head southeast on AZ-92 S towards Bisbee for about 5 miles. Then, turn left onto Fry Blvd/AZ-90 S and continue for approximately 2 miles. After that, turn right onto AZ-92 S again and drive for about 12 miles until you reach the junction for the Huachuca Mountains. Look for signs indicating the entrance to the Fort Huachuca area. Once you enter, continue following the signs to the parking area for the Huachuca Peak trailhead.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from Sierra Vista to the nearest stop along AZ-92. You may need to check local bus schedules for the exact routes and timings. Once you arrive at the nearest stop, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you the remaining distance to the Huachuca Peak trailhead, as public transport does not directly reach the trailhead.

• Hiking

  After arriving at the Huachuca Peak trailhead, prepare for a hike. The trail is moderately challenging, and it is advisable to bring water, snacks, and appropriate hiking gear. The distance to the peak is about 2 miles, and you should allow about 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the summit, depending on your pace. The trail is well-marked, but be alert for changing weather conditions and ensure you're following the designated path.
