Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest town, Hereford, AZ. From Hereford, head south on AZ-92 S for approximately 5 miles. Turn right onto Miller Canyon Road and follow it for about 3 miles until you reach the Miller Peak Wilderness parking area. Be sure to check for any parking fees, which may vary depending on the season.
Public Transportation
Public transportation options are limited in the Huachuca Mountains. However, you can take a bus to Sierra Vista, AZ, then use a rideshare service or taxi to get to Miller Peak Wilderness. From Sierra Vista, head south on AZ-92 S for about 8 miles, then turn right onto Miller Canyon Road. The wilderness area will be accessible from there. Note that rideshare services may have variable costs based on distance and demand.
Hiking
If you're already in the Huachuca Mountains and prefer hiking, you can access the Miller Peak Wilderness trailhead by foot. The Miller Canyon Trailhead is a popular starting point. Ensure you have a map or GPS device, as trails can be unmarked. It's advisable to carry enough water and snacks for your hike.
