Discover more about Hoover Dam Spillway House

The Spillway House, located a short distance from the Hoover Dam on the Nevada side, provides visitors with stunning views of the iconic dam, Lake Mead, and the surrounding landscape. Originally constructed in 1987 as a simple snack and vending location called the Snacketeria, it served tourists for several years. In 2007, the building was closed due to safety concerns and non-compliance with historic preservation standards for the National Historic Landmark. The structure was rebuilt and reopened in 2013 as a modern event venue. The rebuilt Spillway House offers a 6,000-square-foot space that can accommodate up to 200 guests, making it a unique location for special events with panoramic views. From this vantage point, visitors can appreciate the immense scale of the Hoover Dam, the vastness of Lake Mead, and the engineering marvels that make up the dam's infrastructure, including the intake towers. The Spillway House provides a different perspective on the Hoover Dam experience, contrasting with the views from atop the dam itself or from the visitor center.
