    The Valley Metro Rail is an option for reaching the Mesa Historical Museum. Disembark at one of the three stops in Downtown Mesa: Country Club/Main St, Center/Main St, or Mesa Dr/Main St. From there, utilize the free Downtown Buzz to connect to major bus routes and attractions, including the Mesa Historical Museum. A single ride on Valley Metro costs $2.00.

    From downtown Mesa, the Mesa Historical Museum is accessible by foot. From the Mesa Arts Center, head north on N Center St, then turn right onto E 2nd Ave, followed by a left onto N Horne. The museum will be on your left. This walk is approximately 1 mile and should take about 20 minutes. Remember to account for the Arizona heat, especially during the summer.

The Mesa Historical Museum, established in 1987 by the Mesa Historical Society, is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich history of Mesa, Arizona. Located in the heart of Mesa within the walls of the renovated Lehi Elementary School, the museum provides visitors with a unique opportunity to step back in time and explore the cultural evolution of the area.The museum's main building and auditorium, added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001, are historical artifacts themselves. The main building was constructed in 1913-1914 as the Lehi School, while the auditorium was added in the 1930s as a Works Progress Administration project.Inside, visitors can explore a variety of exhibits, including a comprehensive history of Mesa, a replica of an early adobe one-room schoolhouse, and galleries with changing exhibits. The museum also maintains a collection of historic agricultural equipment. Current exhibits include: Play Ball: The Arizona Spring Training Experience, Founding Family, Mesa/Lehi Schools, Mesa History, The Art of Karen Kuykendall, O'Odham - Piipaash, and Return of the Buffalo.Visitors can also explore virtual exhibits online.
