Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the Monument Valley Visitor Center, begin by getting onto US-163 N from the center. Continue on US-163 N for approximately 5 miles. Look for signs directing you to North Window Overlook, which will be a turn off from the main road. As you approach the overlook, follow the signs for the scenic viewpoint on the right-hand side. The drive offers stunning views along the way, so be sure to take your time and enjoy the scenery. There is no cost for parking at the North Window Overlook.

• Public Transportation

  Currently, there are limited public transportation options directly to North Window Overlook. However, you can utilize a shuttle service from nearby towns like Kayenta. If you manage to find transportation to Monument Valley, ask your driver if they can drop you off at North Window Overlook. Make sure to confirm the return trip, as shuttles may not operate on a regular schedule. Note that there may be a fee associated with the shuttle service, typically ranging from $15 to $30 per person, depending on the provider.

• Walking

  If you are already at a nearby viewpoint or hike within Monument Valley, you can reach North Window Overlook on foot. This will require navigating through some rough terrain, so make sure to wear appropriate footwear and carry plenty of water. From the nearest accessible point, head towards the designated path that leads to the overlook. While this option may be more physically demanding, the experience of walking in the stunning landscape is rewarding.
