Getting There

  • Public Transit - Light Rail

    Begin your journey at the Phoenix Light Rail station nearest to you. If you are in downtown Phoenix, locate the Valley Metro Light Rail station at Central Ave and Washington St. Take the Light Rail heading east towards Mesa. After about 25 minutes, disembark at the Tempe Transit Center. From there, transfer to the Valley Metro bus route 61, which runs northbound. Stay on the bus for approximately 15 minutes until you reach the stop at Galvin Parkway and McDowell Rd. From the bus stop, walk east on McDowell Rd, and then turn left on Galvin Parkway, where you will find the Desert Botanical Garden on your right.

    If you are closer to a bus stop, check the Valley Metro website or app for the nearest bus route that services Galvin Parkway. A commonly used route is bus 10. Board the bus in the direction of the Phoenix Zoo. Stay on the bus for about 20 minutes, and get off at the stop at Galvin Parkway and McDowell Rd. From there, the Desert Botanical Garden is just a short walk. Head south on Galvin Parkway, and you will see the entrance to the garden.
