Discover more about Rosson House Museum at Heritage Square

The Rosson House Museum, nestled in Heritage Square, stands as a captivating reminder of Phoenix's Victorian Era. Built between 1894 and 1895, this fully restored house exemplifies the Stick-Eastlake Queen Anne style of Victorian architecture and was designed by A.P. Petit. Originally the home of Dr. Roland Lee Rosson and his wife, Flora Murray Rosson, the house has a rich history. Dr. Rosson was a prominent figure in early Phoenix, serving as a physician, surgeon, county coroner, treasurer, and even mayor in 1895. The Rossons resided in the house until 1897 when they moved to Los Angeles. The reasons for their move are not completely known, but financial difficulties may have been a factor. Over the years, the Rosson House changed hands multiple times and was even used as a rooming house, falling into disrepair. In 1974, the City of Phoenix purchased the house and began a community-driven restoration project. Today, the Rosson House Museum is a popular attraction, offering guided tours that showcase its original architecture, furnishings, and the history of Phoenix. Some have even reported paranormal activity within the house.
