Locate yourself at the Arizona State Capitol and head east on Washington St. Continue walking straight for about 10-15 minutes, and you will see Historic City Hall on your right, at 125 W Washington St.

    To reach the Maricopa County Old Courthouse via public transport, use Valley Metro. If near a light rail station, take the Valley Metro Light Rail to the 1st Avenue/Washington stop. Exit the train, turn left onto 1st Ave, and walk south for one block. Turn left on Washington St, and you will find the Historic City Hall at 125 W Washington St on your left. Alternatively, take the Valley Metro bus. If you are near the Central Station downtown, board the Route 1 bus heading west. Get off at the Washington St & 1st Ave stop. Walk west along Washington St for 2 blocks, and you will find Historic City Hall on your left. A single ride on the bus or light rail costs $2, and a day pass is $4.

The Maricopa County Old Courthouse, also known as the Historic City Hall, is a captivating landmark in the heart of downtown Phoenix. This historic courthouse dates back to the early 20th century and showcases a blend of Classical Revival and Beaux-Arts architectural styles. The building is located at 125 W Washington St, Phoenix, AZ 85003.Originally constructed in 1928-1929, the Maricopa County Courthouse and Phoenix City Hall was a joint effort between Maricopa County and the City of Phoenix. The courthouse was designed by Shreveport architect Edward Neild, while the City Hall portion was designed by the Phoenix firm of Lescher and Mahoney. The unified exterior is constructed of terra cotta and poured concrete with bronze and polished granite details and red clay roofing tiles.Inside, visitors can explore exhibits that narrate the history of Maricopa County. The courthouse grounds feature landscaped gardens, offering a backdrop for photos and strolls. The Maricopa County Justice Museum and Learning Center is located on the sixth floor, in a restored cell block where prisoners like Ernesto Miranda and Winnie Ruth Judd were once held. The museum showcases watershed moments in Arizona's legal history. The Superior Court still uses the building.The Maricopa County Courthouse reflects the growth of the State of Arizona and the City of Phoenix during the decades prior to World War II.
