Getting There

• Bus

  If you are in downtown Tempe, head to the nearest bus stop and take the Valley Metro Bus Route 48. This bus route will take you towards Phoenix. Make sure to get off at the stop at 48th St & McDowell Rd. From there, transfer to Bus Route 72 heading towards the Phoenix Zoo. You will get off at the stop at Galvin Parkway. Once you get off, walk north along Galvin Parkway for about 10 minutes, and you will arrive at Hole in the Rock located at 625 N Galvin Pkwy.

• Bicycle

  From downtown Tempe, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local bike-sharing services. Start by heading east on Rio Salado Parkway, then turn north on Galvin Parkway. Continue riding straight for about 2 miles until you reach Hole in the Rock. There are bike racks available near the entrance for parking your bike.

• Walking

  If you're already close to Papago Park, you can walk to Hole in the Rock. Start at the entrance of Papago Park and follow the main trails that lead to the rock formation. The walk is approximately 15-20 minutes, taking you through scenic views and nature, making it a pleasant hike.

• Ride-Sharing (Uber/Lyft)

  Use a ride-sharing app like Uber or Lyft. Simply input 'Hole in the Rock' or the address '625 N Galvin Pkwy, Phoenix, AZ 85008' as your destination. The fare will vary based on your pick-up location, but you can expect to pay around $10-$20 for a trip from central Tempe. This is a convenient option if you're carrying gear or prefer not to walk.
