Public Bus
From downtown Scottsdale, head to the nearest Valley Metro bus stop. You can catch Bus Route 72 heading east. Stay on the bus for about 40 minutes until you reach the stop at Shea Blvd & 136th St. From there, transfer to Bus Route 184 heading towards Tortilla Flat. This route will take you through beautiful desert scenery, and after about 30 minutes, you will arrive at the Tortilla Flat stop. The destination is a short walk from the bus stop.
Bicycle Rental
If you prefer biking, rent a bicycle from a local shop in downtown Scottsdale. Head east on Indian School Rd until you reach the intersection with Scottsdale Rd. Turn left and continue north until you reach Shea Blvd. Take a right and follow Shea Blvd east. Eventually, you will come across the signs directing you towards Tortilla Flat. The ride will take approximately an hour, and be sure to stay hydrated and enjoy the views along the way!
Ride-Sharing Service
For a more direct option, use a ride-sharing app like Uber or Lyft. Open the app and set your pickup location to your current address in Scottsdale. Enter 'Tortilla Flat, Arizona 85119' as your destination. The ride will take about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic, and you'll be dropped off right at the entrance of Tortilla Flat.
Walking Tour
If you're feeling adventurous and up for a hike, you can walk to Tortilla Flat from the nearest trailhead. Start at the Apache Trailhead located at 48th St and Apache Blvd. Follow the hiking trails heading east for about 6 miles. This is a more strenuous option and will take several hours, so make sure you are prepared with water, snacks, and appropriate footwear.
