From the center of Sedona, start at the Sedona Chamber of Commerce located at 331 Forest Rd, Sedona, AZ 86336. Walk east on Forest Rd until you reach AZ-89A. Turn right onto AZ-89A and continue for about 0.5 miles. You will see a parking area for the Deadman's Pass Trail on your left. Since you are walking, you'll need to take a short detour to access the trail. Enter the parking area and begin your hike on the Deadman's Pass Trail.

Catch the Sedona Shuttle at any designated shuttle stop in Sedona, heading towards the West Sedona route. Ask the driver to drop you off at the closest stop to Deadman's Pass Trail. From there, walk to the trailhead, which is marked. Follow the trail signs that lead you to Birthing Cave. The trail is approximately a moderate hike, so wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
