Bus
From Sedona, head to the nearest bus stop located at the Sedona Public Library on 3250 White Bear Rd. Take the Verde Lynx bus towards Cottonwood. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Cottonwood stop and transfer to the Verde Lynx bus heading to Jerome. Once on the Jerome bus, enjoy the scenic ride up the mountain, which will take around 30 minutes. Get off at the Jerome stop and walk approximately 0.2 miles downhill to reach Jerome's Sliding Jail.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Sedona. Start from the Sedona Uptown area and head towards State Route 89A. Follow SR 89A north for approximately 10 miles. The road is scenic but be cautious of traffic. Once you reach the town of Jerome, park your bike at one of the designated bike racks and walk about 0.3 miles to reach Jerome's Sliding Jail, located on the main street.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and in good shape, you can hike from Sedona to Jerome. Start from the Sedona trailhead at the end of Airport Road. Follow the hiking trails towards the north, which will lead you through beautiful red rock scenery. This hike is about 10 miles long and will take approximately 4-5 hours. Once you arrive in Jerome, head to the main street and walk downhill to find Jerome's Sliding Jail.
