Midgley Bridge Picnic Area: A Scenic Retreat in Sedona

Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the Sedona Main Street area, where you can find shops and restaurants. Head north on Main Street until you reach AZ-89A. Turn right onto AZ-89A and walk along the sidewalk. Continue on AZ-89A for approximately 1.5 miles. You will pass by various shops and residential areas. Stay on the lookout for the Midgley Bridge Picnic Area sign on your left. The picnic area is located just off the road, and you will find trail access and scenic views. Make sure to bring water and snacks for your picnic!

• Biking

  If you prefer biking, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Sedona. Start at the Sedona Main Street and head north to AZ-89A. Turn right on AZ-89A, and follow the bike lane along the road. The ride is about 1.5 miles. You will enjoy nice views along the way. Once you see the sign for Midgley Bridge Picnic Area, use caution to cross the road and access the picnic area. There are bike racks available for your convenience.

• Public Transportation

  Currently, Sedona does not have a robust public transportation system. However, you can use a local shuttle service that operates in the area to get to your destination. Check for shuttle schedules that head toward the Oak Creek Canyon area. Once you reach the nearest stop to AZ-89A, you will need to walk about 0.5 miles to the Midgley Bridge Picnic Area. Look for signs along the way to guide you.
