Bus
To reach Mormon Lake from Sedona, start by heading to the nearest bus stop. You can take the Verde Lynx bus service from Sedona to Flagstaff. The bus departs from the Sedona Library and takes approximately 1 hour to reach Flagstaff. Once you arrive in Flagstaff, transfer to the Coconino County Shuttle, which will take you to the Mormon Lake area. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance to plan your trip accordingly.
Bike
If you're feeling adventurous, consider renting a bike in Sedona. Start your journey by heading north on Highway 89A towards Flagstaff. After about 10 miles, look for the signs directing you to Mormon Lake. The ride is approximately 18 miles and will take you through beautiful scenic views of the Coconino National Forest. Be sure to wear a helmet and bring plenty of water, as there are limited stops along the way.
Hiking
For those who enjoy hiking, you can hike from Sedona to Mormon Lake. Begin your hike on the Forest Road 525 trail, and head north. The hike is roughly 20 miles and will take you through the stunning landscapes of the area. Make sure to prepare yourself with proper hiking gear, enough water, and snacks, as this will be a full-day adventure. Follow the trail markers and enjoy the natural beauty of the Coconino National Forest along the way.
