Red Rock State Park is located at 4050 Red Rock Loop Rd, Sedona, AZ 86336, approximately 9 miles south of downtown Sedona. From the Visitor Center in Sedona, take SR 89A south for 5.7 miles to Lower Red Rock Loop Road, then turn left and continue for 3 miles to the park entrance. Parking is available at the park. Expect to pay an entrance fee of $10 per adult (14+), $5 per youth (7-13), children under 6 are free.
Public Transport

While there is no direct public transportation to Red Rock State Park, you can take the Verde Shuttle bus from Sedona to Cultural Park Place, then take a taxi to the park. The bus and taxi ride will take approximately 9 minutes with a cost of $13-$17. Alternatively, a taxi directly from Sedona to Red Rock State Park is approximately $14-$18.

The land was originally part of the Smoke Trail Ranch, owned by Jack Frye, the president of Trans World Airlines, and his wife, Helen. They built the House of Apache Fires, a unique red rock and timber structure that still stands in the park. After changing hands several times, including a stint as a planned religious retreat, the land was acquired by the state and transformed into Red Rock State Park.Today, visitors can explore a network of hiking trails that wind through native vegetation and offer panoramic views of the red rock formations. Oak Creek flows through the park, creating a lush riparian zone that supports a variety of wildlife, including rare native fish and diverse bird species. The Miller Visitor Center features exhibits, a movie theater, and a park store.
