The Baum Gallery at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) serves as a vital educational and cultural resource for students, faculty, staff, and the central Arkansas community. Established with funds from the Baum family, the gallery's mission is to inspire and engage visitors through contemporary art. The gallery features three main exhibition spaces, allowing for diverse and engaging displays. Exhibitions range from student showcases, including the annual Student Art Competitive and senior art exhibits, to curated shows featuring regional, national, and international artists. The gallery also hosts faculty invitational exhibitions. Past exhibitions have included a wide array of media, such as painting, photography, ceramics, and sculpture. The Baum Gallery actively develops exhibitions and events that encourage interaction and dialogue about visual art, the creative process, history, criticism, and cultural contexts. The gallery also aims to provide a professional museum environment for students to display their work. The Baum Gallery is supported by student art fees, the College of Art, Humanities, and Social Sciences, the Art & Design department, the UCA Foundation, and endowed funds.
