Lake Frierson State Park, a 114-acre haven in northeast Arkansas, invites visitors to experience the beauty of Crowley's Ridge and the recreational opportunities of Lake Frierson. Established in 1975, the park is located on the eastern shore of the 335-acre lake, which was created as a U.S. Soil Conservation Service project. Anglers will find year-round fishing for bass, bream, catfish, crappie, and saugeye. Fishing boats and kayaks are available for rent at the visitor center, and a barrier-free fishing pier provides easy access to the water. The lake's timber-filled waters create an ideal habitat for a variety of fish species. Nature enthusiasts can explore the park's diverse landscape, which includes forests similar to those found in the Appalachians, as well as the oak-hickory forests native to the Ozarks. The Dogwood Lane Trail, a self-guided interpretive trail, winds through the park and showcases its abundant dogwood trees, which burst into bloom each spring.
