Named after Sebastian County Judge Ben Geren, the park's development began in 1966, transforming land from the former Fort Chaffee Military Reservation into a multi-faceted destination.The park boasts an impressive array of facilities. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy numerous soccer fields, softball diamonds, and tennis courts. A network of paved and rugged trails caters to walkers, runners, cyclists, and mountain bikers. The mountain bike trail system is recognized as one of the state's premier systems. Disc golf enthusiasts can explore three 18-hole courses. Torraine Lake, regularly stocked with fish, welcomes canoes and kayaks.Families are drawn to the park's playgrounds and Parrot Island Waterpark.
