Discover more about Vogel Schwartz Sculpture Garden

The Vogel Schwartz Sculpture Garden, nestled within Little Rock's Riverfront Park, offers a unique cultural experience where art and nature intertwine. Inspired by the Benson Sculpture Garden in Loveland, Colorado, the project began in 2004 with an art show featuring local sculptors. The positive response led to the creation of the garden, which was dedicated on October 16, 2009. The garden started with seven sculptures purchased from the 2007 and 2008 Sculpture at the River Market Show and Sales. Today, the garden has grown to feature over 90 works of art, with additional sculptures scattered throughout Riverfront Park. The sculptures range from realistic depictions of animals to abstract forms, crafted from various materials. A 2017 redesign added boulders from Petit Jean Mountain and steel panels, creating gallery-like "rooms" and enhancing the element of surprise. The Vogel Schwartz Sculpture Garden continues to evolve, with new pieces added annually through the Sculpture at the River Market competition. The Vogel Schwartz Foundation supports the garden, which was named in recognition of their contributions. A recent addition is a bronze bust of Daisy Bates, a civil rights activist. The garden provides a space for community gatherings and quiet contemplation.
