The Arkansas State Capitol in Little Rock is a stunning example of early 20th-century neo-classical architecture. Built between 1899 and 1915 on the site of a former penitentiary, it houses the state's legislative and executive branches and is open to the public for tours and exploration.

Walking
From the River Market District, head west on President Clinton Avenue. Turn left onto Cumberland Street, then right onto W 3rd Street. Continue onto Capitol Avenue. The Capitol will be on your right. This walk is approximately 1 mile and should take about 20 minutes.
Public Transport
Several bus routes serve the Capitol area. From the River Cities Travel Center, take bus routes 3, 4, 5, 10, 14, or 23. These routes will drop you off within a short walking distance of the Capitol. A single ride fare is $1.75.
Driving
From I-30, take the 6th Street exit and head west. Continue on 6th Street until you reach Woodlane Street. Turn left onto Woodlane Street, and the Capitol will be on your left. Limited metered parking is available along Capitol Avenue and 4th Street. Additional parking is available in the Victory Garage at 1351 W. 6th St. Metered street parking costs $1.70 per hour.
