Ijevan Wine Factory: A Taste of Armenian Tradition

The Ijevan Wine Factory, located on Yerevan Street in Ijevan, is a leading Armenian enterprise with a rich history dating back to 1951. Founded during the Soviet period, the factory initially processed grapes for brandy and wine production in Yerevan. In 1996, it was privatized and later acquired in 2005 by businessman E.L. Egiazaryan, leading to significant modernization and expansion. Today, the factory boasts modern equipment, exclusive vineyards, and a team of experts, allowing it to produce a diverse range of high-quality products. Visitors can take guided tours of the factory to learn about the winemaking process, explore the storage rooms with aged barrels, and witness grape pressing. The factory produces an extensive range of wines, brandies, vodkas, and even canned goods and dried fruits. Wine tastings are available, allowing visitors to sample the distinct flavors of Armenian wines and brandies. The factory also has a showroom where visitors can explore the entire product line. Ijevan's signature wines, Select Red and White, are made exclusively from large, healthy grape berries, giving them an exceptional taste. The factory utilizes both native Armenian grape varieties and European varieties like Pinot Blanc. Beyond grapes, they also produce specialty wines made from pomegranate, blackberry and other fruits.
