Discover more about Cafesjian Center For The Arts

The Cafesjian Center for the Arts (CCA) is a prominent cultural hub in Yerevan, Armenia, located within the impressive Cascade complex. The Cascade, initially conceived in the 1920s by architect Alexander Tamanyan but only partially completed in Soviet times, was revitalized by Armenian-American philanthropist Gerard L. Cafesjian, who transformed it into a multi-level contemporary arts center. The center opened in November 2009 and has since welcomed over a million visitors annually. The CCA's mission is to bring the best of contemporary art to Armenia and present Armenian culture to the world. The majority of the exhibitions are drawn from Gerard L. Cafesjian's private collection, which includes over 5,000 works. The collection features a comprehensive array of glass art, including works by Czech artists Stanislav Libenský and Jaroslava Brychtová, as well as pieces by Dale Chihuly and other international artists. The center's structure incorporates the Cascade's unique architecture, with galleries, courtyards, and gardens integrated into the complex. The Cafesjian Sculpture Garden, located in front of the Cascade, is always open and features works by Fernando Botero and other renowned sculptors. Inside, visitors can explore various exhibition halls and galleries via escalators. The Khanjyan Gallery houses Grigor Khanjyan's mural triptych "History of Armenia". The CCA also hosts lectures, films, concerts, and educational programs for adults and children.
