Start your journey in the center of Aparan, near the main square. Head northwest on the main road, which is called Aghveran Street. Continue walking straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Amberd Road. At this intersection, turn left onto Amberd Road. Continue walking along Amberd Road for approximately 8 kilometers. You will pass through beautiful countryside as you approach the fortress. Keep an eye out for signs indicating the direction to Amberd fortress. Eventually, you will see the fortress perched on a hill. Follow the path leading up to the fortress entrance.

Public Transport
From the center of Aparan, walk to the nearest bus stop located near the main square. Take a minibus (marshrutka) heading towards Byurakan or Amberd. The fare should be quite affordable. Inform the driver that you would like to get off at Amberd Road. After about 20 to 30 minutes, the driver will stop at the junction with Amberd Road. Once you exit the minibus, walk along Amberd Road for about 1.5 kilometers. Follow the signs for Amberd fortress, which will lead you directly to the entrance.
