Car
If you are traveling by car, start by heading southeast from the center of Aragatsotn. Take the M2 highway towards Goris. After approximately 120 kilometers, look for signs directing you to Tatev Monastery. Take the H45 road to Tatev, where the monastery is located. The drive will take around 2-2.5 hours depending on traffic. Note that parking is available near the monastery.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, first, take a marshrutka (minibus) from the main bus station in Aragatsotn towards Goris. The journey typically takes about 2-3 hours. Upon arriving in Goris, you can catch another marshrutka or taxi directly to Tatev Monastery. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they will stop at Tatev. The cost for the marshrutka from Aragatsotn to Goris is around 1000-1500 AMD, and the fare from Goris to Tatev is approximately 500-700 AMD.
Taxi
Taking a taxi is a convenient option if you prefer direct transport. You can hire a taxi from any location in Aragatsotn. Discuss and agree on a fare before starting the journey, which should be around 25,000-30,000 AMD for a one-way trip to Tatev Monastery. The taxi will take you directly to the monastery, and the trip should take about 2 hours.
