Public Transport
From Yerevan, take a minibus from the Kilikia Central Bus Station to the village of Byurakan, the closest settlement to Mount Aragats. Minibuses to Aparan depart every 30 minutes and cost $2-4. From Byurakan, hire a taxi to Lake Kari, a common starting point for hikes. A taxi from Yerevan to Lake Kari costs around 15,000 AMD. Be prepared for a steep, winding ride.
Taxi
Taxis are available from Yerevan to Mount Aragats. The ride takes approximately 2 hours and costs between $29 and $35. Alternatively, a taxi to Lake Kari, a popular starting point for hikes, costs around 9,000-10,000 AMD from Yerevan. Be sure to negotiate the fare in advance.
Driving
Driving from Yerevan to Mount Aragats takes about 2 hours via the most direct route. The distance is approximately 97 km. Follow the main highways northwest towards Ashtarak, then continue towards Byurakan and Lake Kari. Be aware that the road to Lake Kari can be steep and winding, and may be impassable in winter.
