Getting There

  • Car

    From Khor Virap, head north on the M1 highway towards Artashat. Continue on the M1 for approximately 6 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the M2 road. Take a left turn onto the M2 road. Follow the M2 for about 15 kilometers. As you approach the area of Mount Ara, you will see the mountain visible on your right. You can park your car in designated areas near the base of the mountain. There are no parking fees, but ensure you park in safe, well-lit areas.

    From Khor Virap, walk to the nearest bus stop located on the main road. Take a minibus (marshrutka) heading towards Artashat. The fare is approximately 300 AMD (Armenian Dram). After about 15-20 minutes, get off at the stop near the M2 intersection. From there, you can either walk or take a taxi to the base of Mount Ara, which is about 5 kilometers away. Taxis can be found at the bus stop, and the fare should be around 1000-1500 AMD.
