    From Dilijan, head northwest on Abovyan Street. Pass under the railway bridge and continue into the wooded valley. Follow the 'Medieval Monasteries Trail' markers uphill. The hike to Matosavank takes approximately 30 minutes. Note that the trails are not always well-marked, so using a GPS or asking locals for directions may be helpful.
