From Goris Central Bus Station, take a minibus (marshrutka) heading to Shurnukh. The fare is approximately 500 AMD, and the journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Inform the driver you are going to Bgheno-Noravank. Once in Shurnukh, walk northeast on the main road for about 15-20 minutes, following signs or asking locals for directions to the monastery.

From the main road between Goris and Kapan, look for a signposted road leading west to Bardzravan. At 3.1 km from the turnoff, a paved road (with a faded white sign) leads to the right towards Bgheno-Noravank. Follow this road to the monastery.

Bgheno-Noravank, also known as Bgheno Noravank Monastery, is a captivating monastic complex located in the Syunik region of Armenia. Situated approximately 3-4 km east of Bardzravan village, it rests on the high right bank of the Vorotan River, on a triangular shelf embraced by wooded gorges. This hidden treasure, dating back to the 11th century, offers visitors a unique blend of history, architecture, and natural beauty.The monastery's origins can be traced back to the priest Stepanos in 936, with construction continuing until its official opening in 1062. The monastery was accidentally rediscovered in 1932 by writer Axel Bakunts. The main church, constructed from large basalt stones, features a vaulted hall design. The structure is adorned with high-art frescoes reminiscent of the Tatev school and sculptures depicting scenes from the life of Christ.Today, visitors can explore the small, reconstructed church and admire its ornate decorations, including detailed borders and biblical reliefs.
