If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the main road in Shikahogh State Reserve. Head south on the H45 road towards Tatev. The journey is approximately 25 kilometers and should take around 30-40 minutes. Follow the signs to Tatev Monastery as you approach the area. There is a parking area available near the monastery.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a minibus (marshrutka) from Goris, which is the nearest larger town. The marshrutka will take you directly to Tatev. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they will stop at Tatev Monastery. The fare is approximately 800 AMD (Armenian Dram). The journey may take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Tatev stop, it is a short walk to the monastery entrance.

If you want a unique experience, consider taking the Wings of Tatev cable car from the nearest station in Halidzor. You can reach Halidzor by taxi from Shikahogh or Goris. The cable car ride offers stunning views and takes around 10 minutes to reach the monastery. The ticket price for the cable car is approximately 3000 AMD one way. Once at the top, it is a short walk to the monastery.
