Car
If you are traveling by car from Shirak, start your journey by heading southeast on the M1 highway. Follow the M1 for approximately 30 km until you reach the turnoff for the H11 road. Turn left onto H11 and continue for about 10 km. You will see signs for Khor Virap Monastery. The monastery is located near the village of Pokr Vedi. There is no entrance fee, and parking is available near the site.
Public Transportation
To reach Khor Virap Monastery by public transportation, start your journey at the Shirak bus station. Look for a bus heading to Ararat Province or specifically to the town of Artashat. The ticket will cost around 500 AMD. Once you arrive in Artashat, you will need to take a taxi or a local minibus (marshrutka) to Khor Virap, which is about 8 km away. The taxi fare should be approximately 1000 AMD. Ensure to communicate to the driver that you wish to visit Khor Virap Monastery.
