Minibuses to Kapan depart from Yerevan's bus station on Sevan Street, with tickets costing around 3500 AMD. From Kapan, take a taxi or hitchhike to the village of Baghaburj, the starting point for the classical hiking route. Taxis from Kapan to Baghaburj cost approximately 1000-1500 AMD. Hitchhiking in Armenia is generally safe and a common practice.

For a more direct route to Mount Khustup, hire a taxi from Kapan. Negotiate the fare beforehand, as prices can vary. A taxi to Baghaburj, the starting point for the hike, should cost around 1000-1500 AMD. Alternatively, arrange for a 4x4 taxi to take you closer to the summit, reducing hiking time, but expect to pay a higher fare, possibly around 5000-8000 AMD.

If driving, navigate to Kapan. From Kapan, follow the road south towards Baghaburj. Be aware that roads beyond Baghaburj may be unpaved and require a 4x4 vehicle.
